Trimming Pubic Hair

Optional : Coloring Pubic Hair

After trimming your pubic hair there are many reasons why you might want to color your pubic hair. Some women like to color their pubic hair to match the hair on their head so that the “carpet matches the drapes”. Other women might just like the idea of changing color down there. Whatever your reasons there’s a few important things you should remember when coloring your pubic hair:

  • DO NOT use regular hair dye to color your pubic hair. It can cause irritation, rash and can be very painful if it comes into contact with your genitals.
  • Always perform a skin patch test to check for allergic reactions.
  • Use a small amount of Vaseline or petroleum jelly to cover sensitive areas. This will protect against any accidental spillages.

When coloring your pubic hair you don’t have to go a ‘natural’ color. You can get creative and try something out there like blue or green or even stripes or leopard print!

Whatever you decide, by far the best pubic coloring products out there are made by Smart Bikini. Here’s a selection of the colors they currently do:

Pubic Trimming Tips

  • Use products only on the outside of your body.
  • Rubbing ice on your pubic area immediately after trimming can help to prevent irritation.
  • Avoid trimming or shaving during your period as your skin is more sensitive and trimming can cause irritation.
  • Use a small mirror to help you see what you’re doing.
  • Trimming regularly helps to prevent itching and discomfort as new hair grows through.
  • If your pubic hair is thick and long you can use a small pair of scissors to trim the hair back prior to trimming with a trimmer or shaving.
  • Keep the trimmed area well moisturized between trims.
